Between Two Parks is an idea born out of my and my partner’s love of ice cream. We call ourselves custard conneisseurs, as we travel around Buffalo in search of the perfect cone every summer. To our dismay, there is no ice cream shop in Allentown (our homebase), but there is a perfect vacant location that sits between Days and Arlington park. We imagine it as a retail business that focuses on fresh ingredients, exotic flavor pairings, and a rotating menu. In the design of the logo I focused on a color palette that combined an earthy green, creamy off-white and citrus orange. These colors reflect the pine trees in Days Park, and the tangy tones found in my homemade creamsicle ice cream. The combined typefaces are both playful and sophisticated, offering an approachable high end feel to a quirky little ice cream shop at the corner of Allen and Wadsworth.
